NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Hearst Lumberjacks tandem of Zachary Demers and Riley Klugerman, along with fellow forward Alex Antoine of the Elliot Lake Red Wings have named the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending Sept. 25.

ZACHARY DEMERS, (F) HEARST LUMBERJACKS – Providing four highlight-reel-tallies while helping set-up as many others saw Demers shine as Hearst claimed back-to-back decisions over the visiting Soo Thunderbirds last week.

The combined eight-point effort also saw the 20-year-old from St-Hubert, Que., dole out helpers on each deciding marker for his team in the two-game sweep.

Already boasting five multi-point performance already this season, Demers have moved into top spot in NOJHL scoring with a half-dozen markers and 10 assists to his credit.

RILEY KLUGERMAN, (F) HEARST LUMBERJACKS – In the two triumphs over the Thunderbirds, Klugerman racked up five goals, including notching the game-winner in both victories, and dished out a pair of assists, for a seven-point run.

This included him collecting his initial NOJHL hat trick in Thursday’s win.

The 20-year-old Airdrie, Alta., product now has seven tallies in his past three outings while his eight overall markers lead all league skaters. Klugerman also sits second in offensive production with 15 points.

ALEX ANTOINE, (F) ELLIOT LAKE RED WINGS – A key contributor to both of Elliot Lake’s road victories last week, Antoine achieved a personal single-game best point total among his accomplishments.

In that contest, the 19-year-old had two tallies and assisted on a couple of more, including one on the decider, as the Red Wings won in Kirkland Lake Friday.

Skating for his hometown team in Elliot Lake, Antoine capped off his week with an impressive move and goal, that was the shootout winner, as the Red Wings soared back to upend Timmins with a late comeback.
