NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that goaltender Noah Metivier (Greater Sudbury Cubs); defenceman Christophe Petit (Timmins Rock) and forward Lucas Signoretti (Espanola Paper Kings) have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week, for the period concluding November 27.

NOAH METIVIER, (G) GREATER SUDBURY CUBS – An impressive return to the NOJHL last week saw Metivier shine for the league-leading Cubs.

Making his first two starts for Greater Sudbury, the 18-year-old Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., product won both of them, including posting a shutout in his Cubs’ debut.

In all, Metivier only allowed one tally to get by him in registering a crisp goals-against average of 0.50 as well as a save percentage on .980 during the time frame.

CHRISTOPHE PETIT, (D) TIMMINS ROCK – The 19-year-old blueliner from Chelsea, Que., doled out five assists last week in aiding the Rock offensively as part of their trio of triumphs.

Petit was also solid on the back-end in helping Timmins only allow four markers against in the three victories they had during the time frame.

His efforts also raised his season point totals to seven overall in this, his initial season with the Rock.

LUCAS SIGNORETTI, (F) ESPANOLA PAPER KINGS – Contributing at over a two-point-per-game clip, Signornetti collected seven in total helping Espanola get wins in a pair of their three outings.

The 18-year-old from Kinburn, Ont., began with an assist in an overtime triumph over Powassan, then scored once and set-up three others in a road decision versus the Soo Eagles before notching a pair of shorthanded goals in a narrow setback against Timmins.

Signoretti’s efforts have seen him take over the Paper Kings’ scoring lead, with 11 tallies and a dozen helpers, in 11 match-ups, despite having played less than half of the club’s contests to date during the campaign.
